Hello, I’m Carina, I was born in Castelo de Paiva in 1983, I finished my Degree in Physiotherapy in Porto in 2005, I flew to S. Miguel in June 2009, I fell in love with this wonderful island and for that reason I decided to live here.
I discovered Centro Mãe & Mulher in 2016, initially on a part-time basis, and in 2020 I decided to work exclusively on this beautiful project.
And who is Carina? I am passionate about nature and family, whether by blood or heart. I love what I do, more specifically helping people…
But what people? From the moment they are in their mother’s belly until they are adults. I don’t hide my passion for babies and their incredible potential, I believe that by modifying some aspects in a baby’s life we can one day have healthier adults.
I am also a physiotherapist with different specializations, but especially passionate about manual therapy and human movement. I believe above all that when we look at each human being as a whole we can help him, at a given moment, with whatever he needs, that is if he is open to that help.
But sometimes all I do is listen, whether babies or parents or any other being, and I do nothing but be present there in that moment.
This is me… Carina who has an enormous curiosity, who loves to ask why, and who every day gives the best she knows how and that’s why she goes home with a full heart.
